On this week’s episode of Filmmaker of the Week, we sit down with key crew members from the upcoming short film Press on Nails!
About the film:
Two lonely outsiders, both stuck hiding from the world, stumble into each other’s lives when they need each other most and help encourage the other into choosing to pursue
happiness.
Brian Mayhew, 29, is a manly construction worker by day and a wanna-be drag queen by night. Tackling his double life alone whilst keeping his big drag secret from the world, he dreams of performing at a local nightclub’s open drag night but believes he isn’t ready. Until he meets Maeve, 21, an angry-at-the-world convenience store employee, who’s stuck in an abusive relationship and uses make-up to hide herself. Together they support each other in choosing happiness. Brian helps Maeve escape her abusive relationship, whilst Maeve helps Brian perfect his look and find the courage to get up on stage in drag. Together they help each other achieve what they believe is the unachievable, and in doing so build an
unbreakable friendship.
