Crazed Part 2
Crazed Part 2 comes to us from Producer, Writer, Director Kyle Coffman. Kyle along with George R. Brooks II craft a simple but effective short horror thriller that is guaranteed to leave you on the edge of your seat.
What I think struck me the most about Crazed Part 2 was the decision by Director of Photography Alex Redd to utilize a high key lighting style throughout the film. In circumventing the usual trope of a gritty, dingy parking garage the almost overexposure of lighting creates a unique contrast against the dark horror storyline.
This film wastes no time getting into the action and coming in at a little under 9 minutes with credits it is not a piece that is here to waste your time. Even with the short running time, the pacing is spot on. It is a film that knows when to ramp up and also when to hold on tense moments. This is something I feel even the largest budgets horror thrillers can sometimes miss the mark on so a big kudos to the solid editing utilized there.
Going back into the story piece of the film what I really enjoyed as well was the film giving explanations for various moments throughout. A frustrating piece to any horror film viewer is often the cliché dumb decisions that lead characters can make. Moments like not calling the cops, or just going back to your car, etc. All of these moments are accounted for making the protagonist a capable one who is truly trapped.
Speaking of our protagonist our lead portrayed by Abigail Reno does a great job in her role. With the limited time of backstory, she lends a sympathy to what could easily have been an irredeemable main character.
I’m excited to see more work from Kyle Coffman and his entire team and would highly recommend you checking out Crazed Part 2 which can be viewed via YouTube below.
