Cristina Zenato and the Reef Shark Connection Review

Cristina Zenato and the Reef Shark Connection is a 2021 short documentary directed by Jason Perryman.

Cristina Zenato is another solid documentary from Jason Perryman who has been providing skilled work on awareness with sharks.

This is certainly another in a long list of important documentaries concerning the impact that humans have had on sharks and the sea ecosystem as a whole. Exploring the world of sharks and how, in some ways, they seem to exhibit behaviors of enjoying touch from humans; it is quite fascinating.

However, if there is one bit of the film that was a bit muddled it would be the interview with Zenato herself. The quality in comparison to the rest of the piece looks grainy and has quite a bit of audio issues, which is a shame as it makes up the crux of the entire short documentary.

It is not a total dealbreaker though as this information being provided is still interesting enough to keep interest, it just takes away from the viewing pleasure a touch.

Outside of that what we are given is solid work, and a real attempt to simplify larger topics/issues that have been plaguing sharks for far too long.

Perryman has really cemented himself as a filmmaker who cares deeply for shark conservation and his latest film certainly brings more of that heart and charm to the forefront.
