Today’s film spotlight focuses on the feature film SantaMan directed by Bret Stern.

What is the title of your film and what inspired said title?

SANTAMAN is the title the question was how to fuse Santa and Superhero like Superman of Batman or Spiderman, the answer became obvious Santa-Man

Tell us a little bit about the story and origins of your film.

It started with the high concept idea or question – “what if Santa reinvented himself as a superhero?”

Any films or filmmakers that inspired this film?

The Incredibles were inspiring as well as all the recent 3d animated films

What is the goal of the film for you?

The goal is to be able to make another one but first we need to see how this one is accepted

What has the journey been like getting the film into production?

It started out as a live action project and the we had an intern who was playing around with 3d animation – next thing ya know we are making an animated film

One thing you learned from this project?

Animation takes a long time.

Put your head down and keep moving forward  – eventually you’ll get there.
