“Dripping with a melancholic Lynchian style, Briar showcases amazing talent from lead actress, writer, and director Pearls Daily that is sure to leave a lasting impact after the credits roll.

Opening with a seamless transition from an old black and white television set to full on pro mist infused visuals, this piece immediately sets an off-beat tone. It is one that is darkly funny, reminiscent of the aforementioned work of David Lynch because it is not played for laughs but catches us by surprise in such a way that we can’t help but at least lend a chuckle.

From there the tone is quickly rotated a fully 360 degrees into sheer dread as we see the full murderous rampage our lead Briar Hughes has hiding deep inside her. What transpires from there is a short that has an amazing style with a story that provides a lot of credence to our main characters’ motivations.”
